THE PRACTICE OF YOGA
Like many people, I first came to yoga as a physical practice, and quickly learned the many ways that yoga can change lives. Yoga is much more than physical postures. It’s great for both strengthening and stretching the body, but it is the strengthening and stretching of mind, body and breath through Asanas, Meditation and Pranayama, that gives yoga healing properties. Let’s explore what yoga has to offer you.

Yoga is therapeutic!
Medical research shows that yoga is one of the most effective ways to address chronic pain (including arthritis and fibromyalgia), injury recovery (back injuries, recovery from joint surgery), and stress, while boosting energy and fostering a sense of well-being.

Meditation helps us to create and strengthen a deeper relationship with our inner selves.
Returning again and again to the breath, like the passage of the seasons or waves on the shore, we are able to focus the mind. We live in turbulent times. Before we can take right action, we have to get clear. What are our intentions? What is our motivation? From what place does our call to action originate?
Staying present, getting quiet, and following the breath, allows us to begin to know ourselves so we can take heart-centered action.
It’s powerful to meditate in community!
